Editorial Amazon.co.uk Review
The fourth series of Deep Space Nine can be summed up in one word: Klingons! The show's producers apparently felt beset from all sides. Babylon 5 was a huge hit, as was Star Trek: Voyager, the flagship of new channel UPN. Stepping up DS9's action quotient seemed to be the answer. Time would tell, however, whether doing so via Trek's tried-and-tested former bad guys was the best solution. Opening with a special two-hour extravaganza, the new year was immediately unfamiliar. Dennis McCarthy's original theme--despite winning an Emmy--had been deemed too subdued. As its upbeat new rendition kicked off, the station was seen in battle and swarming with activity. Moments later, we met old/new crewmember Worf, whose sudden appearance was the result of a brewing invasive strategy by the Klingons. This initiated the first of many loyalty shifts, as the Cardassians became the victims. With plenty of re-appearances by Gowron, Kor, and Kurn, it was clear that an ongoing space opera was being crafted. Dukat revealed a tragedy-ridden daughter; Odo's relationship with his people (and Kira) became increasingly melancholy; and even the Jem'Hadar foot soldiers were given a sympathetic angle by their drug addiction. Adding to the layers of ambiguity about Earth's (read: the producers') position over being at war, was the "outing" of two recurring characters as rebel activists. Lest we forget the homely/spiritual side of the Captain, time was spent with a future version of Jake, with his father (Brock Peters), and on the nature of his role as "the Emissary." Avery Brooks worked behind the camera a couple of times, but this year the surprise was LeVar Burton directing five shows. There was still time for comedy: the Ferengi warped back to Roswell in 1947 and Bashir played James Bond. But the year will be remembered predominately for its violence. One of the episodes Burton directed had its fight scenes drastically cut, while the series as a whole won an Emmy for its space battle effects.--Paul Tonks
DS9's classic era Review date: 2010-05-04 Rating: 10 out of 10
The first three seasons of DS9 were excellent, especially season two, but this is where you'll find a real upsurge in quality that lasts to the end of the series. The classics in this season include "The Way of the Warrior", "The Visitor", "Little Green Men", "Our Man Bashir", "Homefront", "Paradise Lost", "Crossfire", "Hard Time", "To the Death" and "The Quickening".
Reviewsexcellent serviceReview date: 2009-10-22 Rating: 10 out of 10fast and efficient service, the dvd was new and sealed. would use again thanks very much. Then the Klingon said "En'cha"Review date: 2009-08-01 Rating: 10 out of 10The station gets a rude awakening by a huge armada of Klingon ships led by Chancellor Gowron and General Martok arrive and shortly after visting the station things fall apart quickly to the point where Worf of the enterprise arrives to try find out what the klingon warships are for which is soon answered, the situation then gets more awkward when the newly promoted Captain Sisko rescues several prominent cardassian figures and when the kligons find out, the armada reaches DS9 and a fight breaks out between the once strong allies which ends up in the klingons retreating and pulling out of the important khitomer accords that the previous era entered into because of an important klingon planet of Praxis blew up.
With the kligons now enemies of the federation and chaos ensuing elsewhere, things start settling down on the station however a starfleet adimral pulls Captain Sisko away from DS9 to earth when starfleet's own paranoid beliefs are questioned, after three encounters with the dominiom shapeshifters on earth things got so paranoid that a fight between the Defiant and the Lakota breaks out.
With Sisko back on DS9 after turning his former C.O. in, several things start happening, Worf almost succeeds in killing Kurn, former klingon captain and emissary on the enterprise D as well as brother to Worf for Worf's dishonor, by refusing Gowron's call before the attack on Cardassia and Rom ends Quarks exploitation to such a degree even with an FCA liquidator on the station!. With all that said the station's senior security officers true colors are shown and a cargo bay full of replicators. Then the station comes under attack from the Dominion for a few components, however discover these dominion that attacked the station were renegades who also attacked another dominion ship, Sisko beams the survivors aboard including a Vorta named Weyoun.
At the end Odo becomes incapacitated and Garak tags along for the ride to the Dominions homeworld.Langages & subtitlesReview date: 2009-02-12 Rating: 8 out of 10Languages :

I have bought the 7 seasons on amazon.uk and they are all the same about audio and subtitles.
Some words for french dudes :
La VF est bien "française" et pas "québecoise", ce sont exactement les mêmes DVD que ceux vendus en France / Belgique, seules les jaquettes (en anglais) changent. Ah oui, et le prix aussi, bien plus léger (15 / box au cours actuel contre 30 par box chez nous).
Pour info, j'ai commandé les 7 saisons de Deep Space Nine et au niveau audio / sous-titre, c'est pareil sur les 6 autres coffrets. The Way of The WarriorReview date: 2008-11-28 Rating: 10 out of 10Each season has been an improvement on the last and Season 4 is certainly no exception. If you need one reason to watch Season 4 let it be 'The Way of The Warrior' which is in my opinion by far the best DS9 Episode up to that point, and it's a double-episode! Worf makes a return, Klingons turn their back on the Federation and DS9 faces its first battle. Not be missed.
