Glossy excellent bbc drama from the eighties not released on dvd till 2oo7 sunday nights compulsive viewing when first shown in the eighties, filmed on the hamble river and various locations with the lovely jan harvey, glad i now have the complete six series to watch again.

Nostalgic viewing for original fans....

Having been glued to Howards' Way when it was originally shown I am enjoying the chance to wallow in a nostalgic re-watching of the series. The cast and characters are great and the storylines compelling and overall this is a classic BBC series from the 80's. Suspect that it would be hard to pull in "new viewers" unless on an "80's research project" but there are plenty of fans out there who will really enjoy this glossy well put togther series - and once you started re-watching you can't stop! Roll on the re-issue of series 5 and 6
