Simply, this is a fantatstic film. I've been waiting months for this to come out and i would strongly recommend this to any action fan, any comic book fan or anyone who enjoys a good film.
ReviewsSlow, bitty and with a disappointly dumb plot.Review date: 2010-09-09 Rating: 2 out of 10The first twenty minutes are dire, presented in a hi-gloss TV style that's just cringe-inducing. It gets better after that and, plot-wise, Iron Man 2 even threatens to show a few sparks of intelligence at around the 50 minutes mark (roughly from the point where SHIELD reveals itself, to the creation of the new element), but what a slow and tedious time we have in getting there. And then, when the main-act action finally starts, it's frankly a dull 'flying' equivalent of a car-chase. Then it ends with a trite and stupid climax. The films looks great, and all the technicians are doing their job expertly, but it hardly has any thrills or chills. I think the root problem lies ultimately in the choice of dumb and very easily-defeated opponents (literally, since most of them are bots), and the consequent need to wrap a dumb plot around them, to please what the movie-studio marketeers perceive to be a dumb audience. I rarely give films one star, but I feel I have to here, because I certainly couldn't recommend it to anyone.disaster movieReview date: 2010-09-05 Rating: 2 out of 10presenting russians as main world villains is overused topic and only keeps stressing out the urge of american government to rule the world and the universe which is why, despite the brilliant iron man 1, this one is total disaster.
im totally not into buying this political rubbish for my collection.
...and mickey rourky as a russian?? what da hell...Better than the first film?Review date: 2010-08-27 Rating: 10 out of 10I went to see Iron Man 2 twice at the Cinema this summer. Excellent plot thoroughly enjoyable. Acting from Robert Downey Jr. was very satisfactory and the relationship between Tony Stark and Pepper Potts was humorous and touching. The fact that AC/DC did the soundtrack was a great surprise as I didn't know about it before I went to see it, I'm not a massive hard rock fan but in an action/superhero film it suited it down to a tee. Special Effects were very impressive and only served to enhance the story. All in all I think that Iron Man 2 was a very good sequel to Iron Man and would definitely say that it's the better of the two although the original Iron Man still holds its own. Highly recommend it to anyone who liked the first one, I'll definitely be buying it.What a jipReview date: 2010-08-09 Rating: 4 out of 10First of all, let me say that I thought the film itself was great. Not as good as the first one, but that would have been a stretch. However, I do feel it's unfair that, just like with X-Men Origins: Wolverine [DVD] [2009], the DVD owner is being stiffed, and forced to go out and invest in Blu-Ray. They call this product the "2-disc special edition", and yet they don't even put half of what is available on the Blu-Ray on here, meaning that if people what the full experience of Iron-Man 2 in their own home, they have to go out and buy a Blu-Ray player. I don't have a Blu-Ray player, or an HDTV, and as it stands I'm quite happy with what I've already got in terms of home media. I don't like therefore companies such as Marvel dictating what home media I should have by beginning to ignore DVD format with their documentaries and special features.
